Boro claim their first piece of cup silverware in an exciting match that ended 2-1 with Joseph-Desiré Job opening the scoring after two minutes and Boudewijn Zenden extending the lead from the penalty spot on seven minutes. Bolton's only goal was scored by Kevin Davies on twenty-one minutes.
