The Football Association Community Shield

A promising display by a number of young Arsenal players, including man of the match José Antonio Reyes, resulted in a well deserved 3-1 victory. The Gunners goals came from Gilberto, José Antonio Reyes and a deflected Ashley Cole shot that went into the record books as a Mikael Silvestre own goal.
Manchester United’s solitary goal was scored by Alan Smith.
