Stadium of Light, Lisbon, Portugal. Thurs 24 June 2004

Sol Campbell heads home the disputed disallowed goal in the dying minutes of normal time that would almost certainly have sent England into the semi-final of this 2004 European Championship.
Michael Owen gave England the lead on three minutes only to have Helder Postiga equalise on eighty-three minutes. Portugal went ahead with a Rui Costa goal during the second half of extra time before Frank Lampard brought the scores level at 2-2. In the penalty shoot-out that followed Portugal ran-out winners 6-5.
