This encouraging pre-World Cup qualifying friendly performance ended in a 3-0 England win. The goals came from David Beckham on twenty-seven minutes, a Michael Owen header on fifty minutes and Shaun Wright-Phillips, marking his international debut, by drilling home the final goal on seventy-two minutes following a
fifty yard solo run.
