The only goal of the match that earned England an important win, came from a well taken Frank Lampard penalty that helped to ease the tension for England supporters during the first half of this World Cup qualifying match.
However, a spirited second half performance by Austria and the sending off of David Beckham left the result in doubt until the final whistle.
